Fledglings starting appearing now.

As we approach the end of April, it is noticeable that the bird food is going down at a rate of knots!

We start to see the adult birds eagerly transporting food to a waiting brood and now we are seeing some young birds at the feeders too. This is always a welcome sight, to see the young following the adults into your garden for a feed on a reliable food source. We feed our birds all year round and so they get used to where the feeders are and what is in them, we very often comment that a particular bird has a preference for a certain feeder or food. At the moment the most popular food in our garden is our own Spring / Summer mix, mixed by hand on the day of despatch it is always fresh and full of fruit, mealworms, sunflower hearts suet pellets as well as a host of seeds, we also add a small amount of grit for the adult birds to aid digestion and strengthen egg shells.

During these strange times we are very lucky to be able to enjoy our garden, living and a small village and working from home is a blessing. If you want to feed the birds but do not have an outside space you could use a window feeder with suckers.
