Swallows start to arrive in Britain in late March (although it could be earlier this year) and continually fly around us, eating and drinking "on the wing" never stopping only to sleep and make their nest. Often they will chose an outbuilding or garage as a nesting place and usually they return year after year to the same nest site. So it is easy to encourage them into your garden and get them to nest in a place you think appropriate by fixing a nest bowl where you like it. The schwegler swallow nest bowl is made form "woodcrete" and entirely natural product (although it does look like concrete) that provides a rough finish that is ideal for the birds to get a grip on and add to with mud etc to make a good nest finish.
