Peanuts for wild birds

Feeding wild birds peanuts in Winter.

Good quality peanuts contain oils and fibers that are essential for good nourishment over the Winter months for our native wild birds in Britain.

It is easy to buy the wrong sort by means of low price or poor quality (the two are usually linked) and you end up with withered dry Peanuts that the birds have to eat twice as many to gain the same energy values and so they leave them and go to another feeder and the peanuts end up as a moldy mess in your feeder, potentially spreading disease through your wild garden bird population.

All wild bird food suppliers in this country are in the same boat (so to speak!) as we rely on importing the peanuts from several different countries and it is bound to happen that a particular country is better than others at growing the best varieties, equally it is the case that some countries consistently grow poor crops but offer them at competitive prices and so create a market for their crops. But this latter approach is purely based on commercialism and not the product being best fit for purpose.

Here at British Bird Food, we are very particular about which peanuts we sell and go to great lengths to check the origin and quality before we buy, as a result we keep our prices stable and competitive with the best nuts on the market and we avoid the roller coaster ride of prices that constantly go up and down and stock that have to be sold on quickly. Our policy is to supply good quality peanuts that are the best in terms of nutrition that the market can offer, we do the leg work so our customers can have complete confidence in us when they buy our products.
