Suet pellets are one of the highest forms of energy for wild birds. They come in four flavours for your garden birds to enjoy and although every garden is different, the Insect suet pellets seem to be the most popular. Fruit pellets. Berry pellets. Insect pellets and Mealworm pellets.
The most important thing about feeding wild birds with suet pellets is to ensure they are top quality beef suet (British Bird Food only uses this) and then that they are soft enough for the birds to eat but yet don't break up into dust easily. Although it is true that even the best suet pellets for our wild birds do have some dust in the packs, this is due to the fine balance between getting a soft and hard composition in the pellet - too soft and they break into dust, to hard - and they are difficult for the birds to break up and eat. So you do find a variation in the composition of the suet pellets and this is because they are made at different time of year and have to take into account the variables of temperature and weather conditions when the formula is constructed.
We at British Bird Food, sell our suet pellets in either returnable packaging, that is to say, 5Kg bags with re-sealable tops that can be returned to us for re-use via our unique free post return system. Or you ,may want to save a little money and buy in bulk, a lot of customers choose this option and can handle the 12.75Kg bag that is contained within the cardboard box. All our wild bird food is sent to you in a cardboard box, so it is neat and well contained and can be used again or recycled.
