Sunflower Hearts are probably the most versatile of all seeds, they don't germinate, are full of oil and fibre and are very easy for the birds to eat. Sunflower Heart Chips are even easier for the small birds to eat and this avoids a certain amount of spillage from you bird feeding station, or of course you can use a bird feeder tray to catch the spillage and the other birds will keep on coming back to clear it up.
All garden birds love Sunflower Hearts and so they are an easy choice to make when deciding what type of wild bird food you are going to feed to your garden birds this year. They last for a year or more if kept in a cool dry place and you may buy them in our re-usable reseal-able polythene bags that keep your Sunflower Hearts fresh for longer and then just put them all inside one bag and post back to us to re-use.
