Hedgehogs are emerging now from their Winter hibernation, they have been around for a few weeks now and they are looking for food and lodgings. Hedgehogs often wander through gardens looking for slugs and snails, often during the day but at night also. If you leave a bit of food out for them then they will get used to knowing where it is and come back daily - on their rounds. As they get used to knowing there is a feed at your place then they will feel safer there and look for a home if they feel like it!
